Chris is a native of LA, affectionately known as Lower Alabama. Upon graduating Theodore High School, Chris worked a short while installing carpet before moving into the plumbing business where he spent several years. During this time he began experimenting with his father working with aluminum and they gradually moved into foundry work and eventually design.
As the plumbing industry slowed down Chris hired on at Steiner Shipbuilding where he worked as a pipefitter, shipfitter, and welder for fourteen years. Regardless of the trade it is obvious Chris loved working with his hands.
In 1992 Chris and his father were brainstorming about making different products and the idea of the football mailbox came into focus. After constructing the prototype a patent was acquired and the "ball" was rolling. For ten years Chris experimented with aluminum, fiberglass, and even roto-molded polyethylene to find the perfect ball. Chris was introduced to Steven Schnieder through their patent attorney. Steven is the owner of Gumusements Inc of Alabama. Gumusements produces interactive gumball machines by the process of Thermos Formed ABS Plastics, the same plastics used on today’s automobiles and together they created the football mailbox that you see today.
After years of hard work, determination, and most importantly vision, Chris's dream has become a reality. Through Chris and Steven's combined efforts we present to you the Football Mailbox, a product that you will enjoy for years to come.
